Ophthalmic Technician


IMMEDIATE FULL-TIME POSITION available for motivated ophthalmic technician (COT or COA preferred, but not mandatory). All positions are full-time, but part-time will be considered based on hours the candidate can work. We offer competitive salary with a full-benefits package and we will pay all costs to become a COA or COT. Travel between offices is required.


Job Requirements:

Perform a variety of routine tests that provide the doctor with information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. The requirements for our ophthalmic technicians include, but or not limited to, the following:

  • History taking
  • Visual acuity measurement
  • Refractometry
  • Tonometry
  • Glare and PAM testing
  • Measure pupil size and reactivity
  • Ocular motility
  • Visual field testing
  • Pachymetry
  • Keratometry
  • Corneal topography
  • Fundus photography
  • A-Scan manual and IOL Master
  • Administer topical medications or diagnostic drugs for testing or treatment



  • Knowledge of ocular diseases and systemic diseases affecting the eye.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound and visual field machines.
  • Knowledge of EPIC refraction workstation a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of basic eye and hygienic methods and practices involving the treatment of the eye.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT & ICD-10 procedure.

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to act calmly and professionally in a busy or stressful situation.
  • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and HIPPA compliance.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management, and peers.


Required Education:

  • High school or equivalent
