Paul E. Masi, M.D. FACS

Paul E. Masi, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist dedicated to comprehensive ophthalmology encompassing both pediatric and adult medical and surgical care. He specializes in cataract surgery, the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy, the detection of macular degeneration, and the management of glaucoma using medical and laser surgical techniques. Dr. Masi has performed well over 10,000 cataract procedures utilizing the newest surgical techniques and intraocular lens.

Dr. Masi joined the Eye Center in 1988 after completing his residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed his undergraduate studies at Fairfield University where he graduated magna cum laude. He went on to get is medical degree from New York Medical College and there was awarded membership into the honor medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Masi is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians as well as other professional organizations. He is a clinical instructor at the Yale School of Medicine, a staff member of both Yale New Haven Hospital and Connecticut Eye Surgery Center-South in Milford, and has surgical privileges at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT.

Dr. Masi has participated in surgical mission trips to Peru and Costa Rica where he performed cataract surgery on the underprivileged residents of both countries. His hobbies include cycling, hiking, gardening and landscaping, and golf. He loves to spend time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and he also loves spending his free time outdoors.
